Very good quality seatpost,
Until you have a seatpost that slips or doesn't clamp the saddle well you don't know how good a thomson is.
Never had any issues with mine.

What is there to be said about a Thomson post that has not been already said? Quality is superb -- everything from the cotton bag the post is packed in to the knurled clamp screws, this post will last a lifetime.
When I sell one of my bikes, I keep the post. They just keep on going.
The setback post has a unique aesthetic that can take some getting used to. I think it looks awesome.
I have a setback on my cross bike and a straight post on the commuter. Each has given me zero trouble.
I read once that the true mark of a good seatpost is forgetting that it's there. Nothing can be more true of a Thomson.
The clamp style makes saddle movement all but impossible when properly installed. Replacement parts are easy to find and assembly is intuitive.
Yes, a Thomson post is an investment. But it's one that you'll keep for the life of your current bike and many bikes to come.

Comments about Thomson Elite Setback Seatpost:
I really like this post. Unlike my other seatposts this one really clamps on the rails. No seat movement what-so-ever. This thing is awesome. The post also feels like it has a little give compared to other types of layed back posts helping smooth out the trail. As light as most carbon posts for less money. Made in the USA. I have switched all of my bikes over to Thomson.

Comments about Thomson Elite Setback Seatpost:
The seatpost i bought with my bike was rubbish to put it nicely, the saddle was constantly coming loose. I bought this because i read thompson were the best and I'd have to agree. Once i set it up, it hasn't moved in the slightest. Looks awesome too, you can tell imediately it's a quality product, ill be fitting one of these to all furute bikes, really happy

Comments about Thomson Elite Setback Seatpost:
I've used this post for several years on both a hardtail and FS bike. No complaints whatsoever. Never had it slip or squeak. Clamp functionality is simple and effective. Looks great combined with the Thomson seat collar and stem!
Comments about Thomson Elite Setback Seatpost:
Overall, I love the product features, just wish it was a little less bulky on the top. With a smaller mount area, or leaner area, perhaps I wouldn't have the rub issues. I usually ride 125 miles per week, and this has definitely enabled me to hone in the position and make for a more comfortable ride.
Comments about Thomson Elite Setback Seatpost:
This seatpost ran trouble-free for a while, but it has started creaking. Despite taking it apart and cleaning it, and greasing every possible surface I have not been able to get it to stop for more than one ride at a time. That is way too much maintenance for a $90 seatpost. Maybe this is an isolated problem, but it is still a pain.
