Roval Rapide CL 50 Disc 700C Wheelset
Affordable Race-Worthy Wheelset
After creating the CLX 50 wheelset, Roval realized that their wheel lineup was missing an affordable race-worthy wheelset. Because of this, the Roval CL 50 was born. The CL 50 takes the CLX 50 disc rim and pairs it with an aero flange disc hub with DT-Swiss 350 internals. Dt-Swiss competition round spokes connect the rim to the hub. When developing the rim, aerodynamics was at the forefront of the design process. Roval wanted to make the CL 50 as light and fast as possible. To achieve this they used a Computational Fluid Dynamics computer to create 3 base model which they then took to the wind tunnel. From the wind tunnel testing, the result was a 50mm deep rim at an incredible 1515 grams.
