Simple, good, and inexpensive
I needed a reasonable groupo for my Ridley Scandium road build. The 105 shimano products aren't the lightest parts, but are exactly what you need to keep a build reasonable and reliable. I prefer disc brakes like the TRP Spyre's on my cyclocross bike (way better than BB7 road btw) but I find these brakes work well and quietly with the Easton Aero wheels they are paired with. The bike will actually do a stoppie! I like the quick release lever for when you have to pull the wheels off for a flat or wheel swap out. These brakes have many of the features of the Ultegra or Dura-Ace brakes, just not made out of the same lighter materials. Thank goodness for trickle down features as these are much better than the 105's from a few years ago.

Nothing More, Nothing Less
I run these Brakes on my bike, and when compared to Ultegra, Durace, the only true difference is weight. Even that weight difference between each tier level is marginal compared to the price of each. These brakes feel great, work great, adjust very easily, and are complaint free! Who needs more than 105?

Upgraded from Tektro calipers
I decided to upgrade my Cannondale Synapse from the factory equiped Tektro calipers becasue I felt they were spongy. After I installed the shimanos the spongy feeling was gone. I do feel the brakeing is better with better feed back. Jenson shipped them very quick! I am in Ottawa Canada.

No nonsense brakes
These brakes work great in all conditions. The stock pads are very high quality. The color matches my bike perfectly. No need for a more expensive brake in my opinion.

Quality product at a decent price
There is a lot less flex in these 105 calipers then the Tektro R-540s with the new Shimano pads they replaced.

I'm about 210 lbs so the extra stopping power is really felt. I can now stop with confidence instead of nearly blowing through corners with the Tektros which was terrifying.

These 105s also offer more modulation as well. Previously with the Tektros I would easily lock up the rear without warning, now although it will still lock there is a bit more warning.

I wish these had the bearing pivots like the Ultegras do, but I couldn't justify the price difference. The 105s still have smooth lever feel though.
